Aberdeen Flashmob - MJ Beat It

Event Date: Sun October 09 2011

Ever wanted to join a flashmob?? Then this is for YOU!!

This event is the first in a series of dance flashmobs organised by Aberdeen University Dance Society.

The idea is simple: We gather together in the morning of the 9th of October to learn the dance (Michael Jackson’s Beat It). We will have dance captains on site ready to teach you the dance in just around 30min. After this we get organised, get going and get dancing!! The choreography is really simple so everyone will be able to pick it up in no time!
You will be walking around the square like normal people… When you hear the beginning of the song, one of the dance captains will start dancing in the middle of the square.. After this more and more of us will join in, until the whole square is dancing! After about 45 seconds the dance is over and we all continue as we were… GENIOUS!

Here is a video of the same flashmob being done in Stockholm in 2009 where over 300 dancers got together in the matter of hours to put on one of the most successful MJ flashmobs world-wide, with close to 10 million hits on YouTube… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lVJVRywgmYM

The event will take place in St Nicholas Square (outside M&S) and outside the main entrance of Union Square on Sunday 9th of October 2011.
More information specific to the event such as times and places for the dance workshop will be updated here in the near future, so watch this space!

So spread the word to your friends and invite everyone you know! Let’s create the biggest flashmob Aberdeen has ever seen!
