Theme
More than entertaining ourselves and people around us, the purpose of this flashmob is to catch people attention for 5 minutes and let them think about our interaction with money. The theme “YOUR MONEY OR YOUR LIFE” is to underline the threat that goes along with the need of money in our societies.
Ideas for freezing
In this flashmob freeze event, you can be whoever you want. A passerby looking for money in his pocket, a bussiness (wo)man receiving a cheque, a drug dealer making a transaction, a child collecting pounds and saving them in his piggy bank.
The idea is to freeze in a daily situation of life. Showing COINS, BANKNOTES, CHEQUES, WALLET or even BANKCARDS is important as it has a great visual impact.
Here is a list of ideas you can borrow or just to let you understand, but feel free to do whatever you feel like. Be creative 
!
- Sitting on the floor asking for spare change (no talk of course)
- Banker/business (wo)man/Drug dealer transaction
- Buying something to someone
- Pointing a gun to someone to get his money (YOUR MONEY OR YOUR LIFE!)
- Saving money in a piggy bank
- Carrying a big bag supposely full of coins
- Showing one’s empty pockets
Timing
The meeting is at 15:00. It REALLY IMPORTANT to be there ON TIME. We will have a white tissue or something (to be defined lately) to let the group know that we are part of the flashmob. Then we can occupy the space properly, while waiting for the signal.
At 15:15, you will hear a signal (to be defined lately) then FREEZE for FIVE MINUTES, until you hear the signal again. When our 5 minutes is over, wander off casually as if nothing has just happened.
Regarding how much people is going to participate, we may meet somewhere else before. Information is to come 48 hours before the freeze.
To Consider
Try holding a pose for 5 minutes. It’s not easy. Pick something you can manage. Keep your valuables locked down. You’re gonna be a prime pick pocket target for 5 minutes.
Try not to make groups of more that 4 persons, as we want people to be able to WALK AROUND US. It also implies not BLOCKING the ways. The idea is to force people to SLOW DOWN and LOOK.
This event is most likely to be videotaped, but you can also come with your camera and shot it from a spectator point of view.
