‘Crawley in Motion’ sporting and cultural projects across the town over the next 12 months include a FREE Open Weekend of activities at the new Bewbush Centre, HBG Oriel and K2 Crawley and a month long festival of dance entitled ‘Dance in Motion’ during July.
What if, instead of just watching a ‘work-out’ in town to promote the programme and encourage physical activity, EVERYONE became part of it! On the spur of the moment, in unison, looking well rehearsed and having fun, let’s take over Queens Square at 4.30pm on Friday 22 July. Animate an open space and let’s ALL get involved! Shop/stroll, join in - “Then disperse!”
Fired up by your every-day-average adult non-dancers, but with a professional choreographer, an enthusiastic camera man and editor and with a great bunch of local young people, we demonstrate the essence of ‘Crawley in Motion’ - to mix art with sport, to inspire, volunteer, participate and enhance activities as we head towards 2012!
Join in - and note that you WILL be filmed!
• Steps much easier than they look!
• Took each person only one hour to learn.
• It’s a mix of just two groups of moves.
• For all - men, women, children, young people!
• NOVICES - don’t get phased by the speed.
• EXPERTS - Steps are easy? Give them flare!

Shop, walk and talk, have a coffee… You’ll hear the music, you’ll know when to come in. Come in half way through if you feel puffed in practice - THEN DISPERSE! Walk away from Queens Square, head to the Leisure Park, the High Street, the Memorial Gardens but don’t stay in shot! Schools out! It’s Friday! Have fun!
…and if it’s fun, “we’ll do it again. Let’s do it…” and take over K2 Crawley’s stadium next summer? No pressure then! :D
