Event Date: Sun July 28 2013
I’m organising DanceFESt at the St Ives, Cambridgeshire Corn Exchange on Saturday, 27 July. This will go from 12:00 to 2:00 pm and will feature various local dance groups showing off their skills.
Just prior to that, a flash mob dance will break out nearby. I’ve managed to get some funding to pay for professional videographers (three of them) so the end result will be posted to Youtube.
I’ve also managed to get a choreographer to put a dance together. This can be seen at:
http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC10oRiPen36iMyqcuAPGzbg (the dance in full can be seen on Part 2 at 5:21 or so. The dance itself lasts 2:21). If you have any trouble accessing this web page, then type “Lindsey McAdam” within Youtube. In addition, my wife, who is a line dancer, has put together a step sheet for those who can follow this kind of instruction.
If anyone lives close enough, we’re going to have a big practice in the local school hall on Tuesday, 16 July (5 to 6:30 pm).
I’m confident that I’ll get about 40 locals to take part but I’d like a lot more. Consider visiting beautiful St Ives and making a day of it. Of course, immediately after the flash mob dance, you must come along to DanceFESt (free entry) to soak up the atmosphere.
Let me know if you can make it, so that I can have a reasonable idea of numbers participating.
Hope to hear from you,
