PreMeditate - The Reading Meditation Flash Mob
Be The Change!
WHERE: Forbury Gardens, Reading, Berkshire
WHEN: FRIDAY 22nd JULY 2011
TIME: 1.00pm - 1.30pm
The Intention:
To raise awareness within the community about the benefits of meditation.
To bring people of differing backgrounds together in unity, with a positive intention.
To shift perception and raise the vibration within the area, and to lead by example.
This simple act can bring about paradigm shifts in thinking and being.
-1.00 p.m. Arrive at Forbury Gardens and look inconspicuous.
-1.11 p.m. A female member of PreMediate will signal the start of the meditation with a Tibetan singing bowl – listen for it, it will be sounded three times!
During this, everyone is to find a spot to sit.
The meditation will begin with the mantra ‘Om’ sung three times –please join in with this. Then we will silently meditate.
-1.22 p.m. Meditation will finish with a rolling ‘OM’ mantra – this means that you chant ‘Om’in your own time, and at whatever note it comes out.
This creates a ‘sound bath’ effect and will sound amazing! Please join in with this after you hear the first ‘Om’.
There will then be another few moments of silence before the singing bowl is sounded again to signify the end of the meditation.
Please then finish with your hands in the Namaste (or’prayer’) position as a gesture of humility and respect(optional).
Please then discreetly disperse and go about your day – thank you for your participation.
Melanie and Chiara will be around to talk and offer information on further events after.
Please bring a pillow or rug to sit on, and water to drink.
Note:
When finding a place to sit please be aware this is a public place and our aim is not to beintrusive. Please be respectful of others and be mindful or where you sit, please refrainfrom sitting on paths or plants. Ensure people can move freely around.
