York’s Human Traffic Jam
Event Date: Wed September 19 2012
Everybody loves a good cause and a bit of attention. Why not combine the two with some city pride and be a part of our i-Travel Flashmob on Tuesday 18th September 2012?
If musical statues was your thing as a kid, then you’re gonna love this.
We’re looking for volunteers to help us launch the new i-Travel York initiative. All you have to do is turn up in St. Helen’s Square at 1:30pm and freeze for 2 minutes and form a human traffic jam.
We want to grab people’s attention and get them thinking about how they travel around York.
As a thank you for getting involved, all volunteers will receive a freebie (most imaginative pose gets the best prize)
i-Travel York is all about improving movement within our city. The programme will enhance infrastructure in the city and improve public transport in a drive to cut congestion and reduce CO2 emissions.
Sustainable modes of transport; i.e. walking, cycling, sharing your car or taking the bus can save you money and make you healthier.
We need you to stand still to keep our city moving.
